Its that time of year again when the kids are back to school, the days get shorter and colder and flus and colds surface. Maintaining a strong immune system is key to fighting off these ‘bugs’. It is not the virus that ’causes’ your cold, yes it ‘triggers’ it, but a low immune system, due to lack of rest, eating too much sugar and emotional stresses are the contributing factors.
Recently I have tried to cut down on the amount of meat that my family consumes, so I have been experimenting with vegetarian recipes. This is one of my favourites which is enjoyed by all of the family. Other vegetables can be added depending on your preferences.
This bolognese is very versatile it can be used to make spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, shepherds pie or eaten with rice. I have used it to make vegetarian lasagne and vegetarian shepherds pie, both were enjoyed by my family.
